Full vowels may only occur in metrically-strong syllables. Reduced vowels /ɨ ə/ may occur in any syllables; in metrically-weak syllables they disagree in height with the preceding strong vowel.

Full vowels /i u e a/ are lowered to [e o æ ɒ] following labiodorsals and /ʕ/.
