Notes

Plant/neuter nouns (Mitoochaboobawim Mapatoosbawimtoosh yaa Tagaabawimtoosh, “Word of No Genitalia and Trees”) are nouns that have the quality of either plants or have no specific gender whatsoever. This is usually used to refer to plants and normal, tangible objects. There are many exceptions, including:

  • Statues of beings that aren’t a plant or neuter. Such statues take the gender of whatever they depict (i.e. a statue of a male warrior takes the human masculine gender).
  • Peppers, which take the human masculine gender.
  • Most bitter berries, which take the deceased gender.
  • Tangible things that are too far away or too immeasurable, such as the sun, which take the abstract gender.
